DO IT
"I choose to act purposefully."
Pick a tiny action — or write your own.
The action
Pick the one thing you've been avoiding. Set a 15-minute timer. Do only that one thing. When the timer ends, stop. Starting is the whole battle.
- Set a 15-minute timer and start the one thing I've been avoiding
- Complete the single smallest step toward what I've been putting off
- Begin — not finish, just begin
Why it matters
Creates momentum. Reduces anxiety from avoidance. Builds self-trust through action — every completed thing tells you that you're capable.
If you always push through with DO IT, you may be bypassing necessary rest and reflection. Constant action without pause leads to burnout, not progress.
If you never press DO IT, avoidance is running your life. The undone things pile up — and the weight of them costs more energy than doing them would.
When to press it
- When the same task has been on your list for two weeks
- When you know what needs doing but can't start
- When procrastination is making anxiety worse
- When paralysis has set in around something important
The rewire
DO IT interrupts the avoidance-anxiety cycle. The longer something sits undone, the more threat the brain assigns to it. Pressing DO IT breaks that cycle by starting.
Every completed action rewires the avoidance circuit. The brain learns: starting is survivable. DO IT builds the evidence.
